Who is C & B

My name is Bill Menges and I am a retired arborist. Trees and wood have always been fascinating to me so, naturally, woodworking has been my favorite pastime since I was a youth. I am constantly amazed to see what can be made with wood.

My wife, Robin, and I have five adult children and four demanding bosses: Chili, Page, Chubb, and Puddy. Spending time with my kids is my greatest joy and, of course, my lovely wife's amazing cooking! 

I am new to showing/selling my work to the public. The inspiration for projects begins with my desire to build or make something different. If I have an image in my mind I will try to bring it to life. It sticks in my head, and once I have my idea I choose a piece of wood and start working. As I work on the wood, I begin to see what the wood wants to become.

I want to reveal the natural beauty in each piece of wood I work with. The wood makes the things I make beautiful.
